rccsWe ve had our adventures with coons this season, had one big ole daddy coon come by and unzip a cooler and steal some eggs. This past weekend we ran into some Armadillos and they were interesting to say the least. We seen a show where they caught one by hand and it was docile, so being the brave fellow that I am[&:] I tried but those suckers can really run and once it headed into the palmetto brush it was gone. With any luck I ll catch one next time[:D]
 Happy Camping

rccsThey also have shows where idiots stick their heads in lion s mouths, and alligator shows in your neck of the woods where fools play with alligators.
Armadillo s have teeth, very sharp teeth, and a nasty disposition in wild ones that tells them to use them  when cornered or a mother Armidillo around her young. Not to mention the claws they have.
Be glad you didn t get it cornered unless you like the nickname " lefty" .

rccsHaving been on a diet for several months, I was looking forward to camping because I decided I would give up the diet for one weekend and eat some killer brownies I had made.  Really, they were killer as I had used a couple of pounds of Ghiradelli chocolate.  To make a long story short, there were no bear precautions in the park so DH decided he would leave the coolers out.  I did ask him to put them in the truck but DH knew best.  You guessed it, the little critters came and took all my brownies.  Somewhere in Georgia, there is a racoon that is still bouncing off the trees from his chocolate high.  (I did lose another pound that weekend but not because I wanted to!)

rccsI forgot to tell you in the origional post about the Fourth Of July weekend trip. My brother-in-law was also camping with us at a different state park that weekend. The first night we were there , after sitting around the campfire until about 11 o clock, we noticed that he had his coolers sitting outside as we were going back to our site. We mentioned that he should probably put them in his car or somewhere else for the night so the raccoons don t get into them. Well the brother-in-law , knowing everything, didn t believe us and left them outside. About 2:30 in the morning we  heard some comotion over there and a loud shout " get out of here" . In the morning when we got together after breakfast I asked him what was going on over there earlier and he said that the raccoons got into his coolers and dragged off the steaks and a few other things from one of them. All we could do was laugh and say " I told you so" !
