wiininkweYou didn t mention anything about fuses. The first time I installed my battery I blew one, but it hasn t happened since. If he didn t check them you may suggest it. I have also read on the board about a reset button and/or a fuse inside of the converter, have him check that too. It does require removal of the cover.

wiininkweI think he said that he checked the fuse, but I don t recall anything about a reset button.  Thanks for mentioning those, and I ll make sure that he gets the message.   This is one of the things I love so much about this board and our group.   Someone always takes the time to try to help, and it s soooo appreciated.    I was thinking about the guys all huddled under their sleeping bags all night, and then going out at the crack of dawn into the cold and siiting out in the cold for hours.   It s so important for them to get a chance to get the chill off some time.  I know that they can go and sit in their tv with the heat on for a while, but that isn t quite enough.   A really fun hunting trip can be ruined by such a small thing.   (actually, I m thinking now how glad I am that I couldn t go on this trip)   If anyone thinks of anything else, please let me know.  And, Tony, thanks again.

wiininkweSounds like a 12V problem, could there be a loose wire coming out of the converter?

MtnCamper

wiininkweDoes he have a way to test the output at the converter? Test light or multimeter? He should be able to pull a fuse and test across where the fuse plugs in. Or test the output wire. Outlets work, so 110 is OK.

Also there may be a white plastic plug in at the back of the converter that came loose. This happened to me. I had to take off the box covering the backside of the converter. As soon as I touched the plug, the water pump started. Good sign.

All I needed to remove the box was a Phillips screw driver, and you have to take out a couple screws. It had came loose going down a bumpy access road.

wiininkweMy brother-in-law had that same problem this summer while we were camping together at a state park. What it turned out to be on his Coleman was that one of the wires on the bottom of the " kill switch"  in the galley must have been loose and it burned up the connection (not in flames, just darkened it to the point of not working).

Gone-Camping

wiininkweYou don t have a swing level galley do you? There is a switch on that two, sometimes they hang up or the wire comes off. That will affect the 12v to the lights. Not sure about the furnace though...

wiininkweKill switch, Kills the furnace too.

Gone-Camping

wiininkweI kind of thought so, but since mine didn t have a furnace was 100% sure....
