Was it in the vinyl or the canvas? If it were the vinyl, I would use a dab of clear silicone sealer, or some liquid vinyl patch available at your local home improvement center.

Silicone sealer is good.  You can probably use a white silicone caulking that will cover the hole without messy patching.
