I may have reviewed this CG previously as this was our third trip.  However, since I couln't find one, I thought I would just go ahead and do it again.  Located in the piedmont area of SC near Greenville and the NC border, this campground has to be in one of the prettiest places in the state.  $17/night, W/E, hot showers (but no heat in the bathrooms and screens in all the windows), shaded sites with lots of privacy and the best sites are for smaller campers.  Gravel pads make for fairly level sites.  Each site has either a fire ring or rock ring.  The park has a restaurant that is currently closed for renovation and a camp store.  Some sites are reservable but there are also plenty of first come first serve.  There are several hiking trails leading from the park and two lakes that we know of with canoeing and fishing.  There are also two other jewels in SC quite close: Caesar's Head SP and Jone's Gap SP.  Plenty of hiking to do in this area with some pretty spectacular vistas or waterfalls to see.  Oconee, Keowee/Toxaway, and Devils Fork SP are also quite close by.  You really can't go wrong with any of the four.

I have to agree with everything !
Oconee is my favorite of the list but that might be because of fond memories of that camp out rather then the park itself. I should add to that one there is a bluegrass jam at Hillbilly's just down the road at the fork every Friday/Saturday night in the summer. It was wonderful free entertainment. I have not camped at Devil's Fork yet but have been there and the views from the swimming area are amazing. The water is also the coldest!! Keowee was more rustic and not much to offer but great for a fall camp out.... Table Rock is my most regular other then Paris Mtn because of it's location to where we live.

Take Care,
Lisa
