Hey Beckie,

I talked to Rick last night and he really wants to camp there soon, February or March.  I think your school has a long weekend March 5th.  Are you up for a trip that early?  I have that Friday off from work.  I wouldn't make a reservation though, too much chance of snow and then the need to cancel. :p

copcarguy

Hey all!!

YES - we wanna go ASAP!!  We haven't been in the PU since our FL trip in Nov.  We NEED to go!  The March 5th weekend sounds good, but we need to know soon so Steph can get the Fri off and I can get that Sunday off.  Looks like an easy trip for us across I-84 down to exit 100 on I-81.  The only thing that will hold us back would be snow, only because I don't want the new van to get winter road salt/yuckies on it.  He's away in hibernation right now...  :p

A balmy MINUS 6 Degrees up here on the mountain and it seems sooooo long till camping season.   BRRRRRRRR  !!!!!!!!!

Glad to see that there is interest in this area and campground.  Had such a blast on my day trip in the Fall that I can't wait to go back and explore some more, especially up on the bike trail, back to the ghost towns.  I hope some of you found the links I supplied of interest.  If you have any questions drop me a line.

I know some of you are chompin' at the bit to get camping early on and more power to ya.  Realistically, up here on the mountain top we traditionally see snow on the ground well into March.  The camper is neatly packed down out back and we usually don't try to move it out until April.  I know that sounds lame but the last time we tried an early spring start-up we got caught by a snowstorm.  Guess we are getting old and lazy.

Any who,  we would be game for a late April or early May trip.  I think the weather and foliage down there would be better.  My employer has yet to reveal our weekend workload expectations for 2004, so I can't yet commit to a specific date but I do have flexability.  We want to remember that many can't do Mother's day weekend.

We are not generally commercial campground campers and don't know how these KOA's operate.  This one looked pretty organized and seemed to have several group things going.  I wonder if they would work with us in organizing a get together.  Maybe we can get all together around one of those nice pavilions I saw on my visit last Fall.  That would be nice considering those famous spring showers.

Hey ya'll,

I'm not familiar with these parts of PUT.  But I just thought I'd drop on by and say hi to all.  Tracy says hi to us once in a while so I thought I'd take a stroll farther from my usual haunts and wish the COTOC folks a Happy New Year.

Have a happy camping year, and if you all ever come out west, we have a rally just about every month.  We'll keep the lantern on for you.

Hey Surfcal,  Happy New Year to you too.  DH and kids will be in the Bay Area sometime this summer for a couple of weeks.  If you all have a rally then, can they stop by and say "Hi" from the east coast?  Where would I find out when the rally would be?  I don't think that I will be coming out, but you never know, now that Southwest is flying into Phili.  See ya.

Rick I think the majority want to wait until April.  How about the weekend of the 23rd?  Is anyone else interested in that weekend?

copcarguy

APRIL?!?!? :J

I'm game for whenever - just let me know...

Knowing us, we'll probably check it out before then too.

April sounds good to me.

Keep in mind that Easter is on April 11th and I suspect that is a not so good weekend for many.  Before that may be a bit cool after may be a bit warmer.  Weekend of 23rd could work fo me.

If there is enough interest and a pretty firm idea of date we can check with the Campground for a possibility of grouping together and maybe a group rate.

MtnDave

PS. -9 degrees below zero up here on the mountain this morning.  Wind Chill -25 degrees.  I WON'T be camping this weekend!!!!!!!  I WILL be Geocaching.

MTNDAVE

I got the camping itch today so I did some checking on this campground.  They have their own website that is MUCH better than KOA's.  Her it is.

http://www.twingroveparkcampground.com/

Cruise around their website.  They have a whole bunch of stuff going on.  The weekend of the 23rd is Flea Market Weekend.  Also check the "HOT DEAL" tab for the April special.  Good map of campground too.  Lots of other stuff to read.

I also called them and they are sending me a packge including info on Group rates.  They were real nice and very interested in a group thing.

BARDENL

Too far out to plan, our son may be on leave before taking up his first Army assignment - 2 years in Korea, won't know for a while, but we can hope it will work out.  Both the timing and the campground sound great.  I really miss popping up.
