Has anyone replaced the coleman swivel jack that is on the tongue of the camper?   Ours stopped working as we were getting it ready to store for the winter.  Any brand/model to stay away from? Or any you would recommend?

Thanks!

Sharon,

Are you sure it needs to be replaced?  It just may need service/lubrication.

Check out This Page.

Now, if you do replace it you will probably need to just bet anotherone from your Fleetwood dealer.  It is manufacturered by BAL, the same folks who make the BAL Levelor.

I replaced my jack, and yes it did need replaced.  Part of the threaded rod stripped, so it wouldn't work anymore.  I picked up the jack at my Coleman/Fleetwood dealer and borrowed a pair of ring pliers from a friend to take the old ring off and put the new ring on.  The pliers are really needed to replace the ring. :)  It only takes a few minutes to do the job, if you have the right tool.

I have!!!! You can get a BAL type on the web for about 20 dollars or go to the dealer and pay 60 dollars. I did replace mine about two moons ago. Like Tim stated it may only need to service it. If you do replace it, there is a chance you will have a problem with the lock ring which holds it on the sleeve. I bought the ring pliers for it but they were two small to do the job. Sooo I just got madder than hXXX at it  which gave me the strength to pull it off. I also put it back on the same way which I may add was easier.
