well scrooge interrupted my Christmas shopping yesterday
Luckily I know better than to leave my handbag in a shopping cart, but yesterday it was pouring rain here and I went out and about to shop.  Took my hat off...my favorite hat...and put it in the front of the cart where the kids sit sometimes...well I cruised through Target picking up items and a couple of times the aisles were a bit packed so I slid the cart over to the side, well I eventually realized my hat was gone!!

Some big time jerk must have assumed that perhaps I had a checkbook or wallet stashed under it while shopping and apparently one of the times I walked away from the cart to look at something...they helped themselves!  All they got was a hat...but it was my favorite hat!!   Told DH I wish I had lice!!  :p  that would fix em!!!!!!!!!  gross I  know!!

So be careful when out shopping, mind your bags and hats!!

 What a rotten thing someone did.  I hope you get a new hat for Christmas. :XMas

Some of the big cities have a rash of stolen pocketbooks this time of year.  Also I have heard about shoulder bags being grapped when one's attention is not on guard.  Ladies, wear your choulder bag around your neck  and hang toward the opposite hip.  That way it can't be snatched.  Another thing, put packages out of sight in your car.

I don't carry a pocketbook anymore.  I have to tote DD's diaper bag around, so my wallet and checkbook just go in there.  At least if somebody steals it, they're sure to got a bad diaper along with it (started solid foods  :D )

Check with the store (trying to have faith in my fellow man here).  Maybe someone turned it in, thinking it had been accidentally left.

I did  :(  no one has turned anything in and to give credit to the workers at Target, one saleswoman was kind enough to walk through the store with me for almost a half hour going down every aisle I'd been in to see if we could find it!  I also left my name at the lost and found.   I know it was just a hat, but it sure did feel terrible to have someone take something of mine and it was so darn cute too!! Even my kids are upset that "moms hat" is gone!!   I think however, Santa will bring me another as I had bought it at the mall last year at one of those specialty carts.   I'm just sad it was taken, especially when you are out doing something fun and in the spirit of the holiday.  People can just be plain old mean.   Instead of working for something for themselves they just take it from hard working people.  I remember once when we were pretty much just starting out, been married  couple of years, had a nice little apartment and used the laundromat there.  Our DD was just a toddler and nana and grandpa bought her the cutest little snowsuit.  I had put it in the wash and when I went back to get it, someone had taken it right out of the dryer!   I suppose maybe they needed it worse than we did, as we could replace it, but still to know someone in our apartment community would do that was so amazing to me.  You had to have a key to the building to get into the laundry room.  After that I parked my butt in a chair with a magazine everytime we used the laundry room.   I'm too naive I guess.  Boy was I happy when we bought our house and I could have my own washer and dryer!  Now if I could just convince socks that yes they do go in the washing machine together, but how come only one ever comes out of the dryer!!  :)
