well, here's the status. as of 11/20, was having fits with virginia dmv over titles and registration of a 1977 Jayco Eagle. seller's statd does not require titles on anything under 3,000 lbs. Va does. Been round and round. got all the documents from the seller (who has the patience of Job) and  trooped down to the dmv one last time. Presented all the required papers, even a letter from the DMV of the seller's state. I was told to go away-the reason? the letter from the other dmv wasn't signed! bit my toung, fed up, rode to the next dmv down the line to try my luck. arrived 10 min to closing, presented my documents and held my breath. the clerk's comment? would you like to regester for one or two years sir?" 10 min transaction, smooth as silk.
1. some civil servants should wear a "go away" sign if they don't want to be bothered-there's plenty of openings for them in the former Soviet block.
2. No matter what advice is given to you, unless you can make it simple for the processing clerk, you might as well not show up.
3. sometimes you have to take your destiny ioto your own hands-be firm but polite, and don't be afraid to take your business elsewhere if necessary.

I think on the way to the second DMV, I'd have scribbled something in the sig block, just in case!

Also, why didn't you register it for Perm tags, one time $50 fee???

I am glad you got the paper work done.   :)

Now tell us about your NEW PU!

I wish we could get permentent tags here in WV. Here you can only get them on trailers with tandem axles.

ok
got a 1977 jayco eAGLE, 10FT BOX, actually in decent shape. Frame is freshly painted, floor os in excellent shape-no rot, damage or soft spots. Roof appears to be in good shape, past owner warned of possible problem with aft end of the roof seal (forgive if I get nautical, older sailor here). Canvass needs replacement-was ripping from dry rot while restuffing it after opening. crank and pulley/wires in great shape. sink/water/stove systems appear to be in decent shape. some dryrot from cushion covers-replacing them as we speak. Electrical may need work. no battery setup, but the TV plug has a jury rig pig for ac tied into it-weird. also, the lights worked when i plugged in/hooked up, except for 1 marker light. replaced it, and the whole system went out. wleels/bearings in good shape. problem with aft seals though. Left rear quater, where the seal/flashing joins, the underlying wood appears to be gone-nothing to grip to even with oversized screws. Cooler has cracks in the internal plastic-will need advice on that. haven't fired up the heater yet-told it works fine. want to add ac at a later date. No awning, or rail for one.
paid $750 ,for thing off ebay. Did I get my money's worth? probably. Do I like it? definetly. Ugly harvest gold linoleum and 70's wood paneling-remids me of my Mom's kitchen. Can't wait to get out camping!
