Hang in there Paula!  Set a minimum standard that people can treat you and don't let them overstep those bounds or they will continue to do so, causing you unwanted and unnecessary stress.  Many families have similar problems for way too long and it keeps coming back around.  Maybe a nice camping trip at Christmas next year would be better for you.  That way you would not have to deal with those unpleasantries as you have tried to make it a nice Holiday for everyone.
