If it wasn't for bad luck...

We wouldn't have any luck at all. I responded to the snowy weather thread last night about my DH plowing today.  He went out about 5:30 this AM did his first driveway and on his way to his second another plow truck came flying around the corner on his side of the road and ran him off into the woods!  Not only is his truck trashed the guy didn't even stop to see if he was ok.  The plow was ripped off the truck it pulled the bumper off and his 20+ year old truck (a Ford f-250 diesel)that didn't have a mark on it now has a banged up door, the front end is also beat up and he hasn't even looked at the frame yet.  Needless to say the money that we just put into it to get it going was a waste.  We're gonna have to put the plow motor and other new parts on ebay and hope to get enough for them to cover a snowblower.

Thankfully, he's not hurt and I know a lot of people are having a rough time right now but it just seems that every time we get a little ahead something like this happens.   AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

Glad to hear DH is OK -- that's the main thing.

When it rains it pours -- last week we had 2 of the cars overheat -- 1 head gasket $600 and the other while I was on the road for a 3hr drive (got about 1/2 there and overheat) at least a hose --11pm nothing open in an area that I do not know.  Did find a 24hr Walmart -- duct tape to the rescue!

Got to destination finally - next day took in to replace the hose and they tell me I need a new radiator $200 -- decided to go with the hose only deal and limp it home to have our mechanic do it.  Made it home and the radiator didn't overheat.  I think maybe he was trying to take advantage of me.  However, I do know something else is wrong - possibly the thermostat as even after the engine is well heated, I can touch and release the radiator cap.

Hope you get your truck up and running or at least a replacement

Sorry to hear about the accident, I am glad that your husband is ok. I hope they catch the other driver and charge him with everything they can. Hopefully insurance will help put the truck back into its old shape soon.

He didn't get the make or license plate and the guy didn't stop.  Unfortunately we don't carry collision insurance on the truck.  He's trying to get out of the driveway to go buy a snowblower now.  Everything that we bought  to fix the plow wasn't damaged so ebay here it comes if we're lucky (HaHa) we might come close to breaking even at best.

Glad you kept the collision -- people think we're crazy for keeping it on all the cars (1988 and 2 are 1992), but for what little extra it costs us, if something like this should happen (which it has in the past), at least it'll either be fixed for at least a good start on a downpayment to replace it.

I don't know about the insurance in your area but did you report this as a Hit & Run.  That might put it into a different ball game as far as collecting for damages.  Check with your company and be sure to file a report with the law enforcement.
