It's probably too late for Rick (CampNfan) to use it, but there's a product used in the marine industry to repair rotted wooden areas without the need to cut out the wood and replace it. The product is called "Git Rot" and a description of how to use it can be found by clicking HERE.

Discounted prices, testimonials and reviews can be found using Google with a search of "Git Rot". The product is manufactured by Boat Life.

While it's a good product it's not a miracle cure. On a boat you can get water damaged wood without having a real leak. On a PU however if the wood got wet you've got a leak and Git Rot won't solve that.
In most cases we've found by the time we've gotten to the leak it's mostly apart already and simplier (and cheaper, epoxy, even watery epoxy ain't cheap) to just replace the wood.
Also it's penatration level runs about a 1/2 inch without drilling holes about every couple of inches to allow it to penatrate the entire wood rotted area. Leave a couple of inches of rotten wood and you might as well not have started.
It does a great job on things like wooden mouldings and non structural items, but things on laminated materials like plywood or structure wood it will cause more swelling.
