If I didn't, how could I bear keeping my handle and website?     ;)

My receiver was bought back in 1989, or 1990.  It was sold by Citizen, and is model TR30-2A.  It runs on 2 AAA cells, and is the size of a pack of playing cards.  All analog.  Built in speaker and antenna.  To use it, connect a cable from the AV out of this receiver, to the AV in on a monitor, or portable DVD player.  Tune to the station.  Simple to use.  Works very well.  Even has an external antenna jack.  Lots of function for such a small size.

The bad news is I just discovered it has a bad capacitor (speaker squeals).  Not a big deal for me to fix.  I'll take care of it at work tomorrow during lunch time (part of what I do for a living).  Upate: FIXED!

I also owned the Hauppauge model shown in the link I provided before.  It did work, but the video capture size was too small.  Same issue I have with the ATI-TV Wonder card.  If you want to use this to record TV programs, you'll be disappointed with how small the picture is.  The upside is these cards are inexpensive.

I'm now holding out for an ATI All In Wonder card.  Full resolution, does everything.  Expensive, but big step up from the other two.

I wouldn't use the card for camping, but rather to install in my home computer.  The Citizen receiver covers the bill for making my DVD player into a TV.

There are so many choices, how am I EVER going to pick one?!?   My friends at work are sure that I am completely NUTS.  You are going to buy a what?  So that you can watch TV on your computer where? :J
They are just jealous!  Or they will be when I get one and it works (I hope)!

Man,  that would be a tiny PIP on my 7" DVD player!

Nah, I'm downsizing.  Remember, I'm the one who had satellite TV: http://2manytoyz.com/dish.html

Maybe someday I'll add a 60" plasma TV to my camper.  Put it on hinges and have it fold up flush to the ceiling when traveling... until then, we'll suffer with the little DVD player.      :D
