Quote from: MommaMiaWe had a couple of them in our old house and actually practiced using them in fire drills. ( A good tip for people with 2 stories... GET THE LADDERS and learn to and practice using them!  You don't want to have to figure it all out when there is an ACTUAL FIRE)

Great tip. Those things can be frustrating, especially in an emergency. I don't think they are very expensive, either. I think I have seen them at Home Depot/Lowe's. Maybe even Wally World.

On more than one occasion, I have given newlyweds (or even people with a "new" house) a fire extinguisher. I wrap it, of course, but I tell them before they open it that I hope it is a gift that they never use.

Thanks gang - Birol, you are so overwhelmingly kind offering me your RV!!
MommaMia -- you smart gal --I love the idea of the ladder - I will check into that - I completely forgot about those -- we should have them for this house as well - we have 2 stories -- I'll get a few of them - DH will think I'm going off the deep end...We have smoke detectors in every room and numerous fire extinguishers all over the house - he jokes and says we need them for my hot Irish temper -- big Funny eh?

The kids are so excited - my friends are getting the kids to school and home so we can get up there - do the rigamarole and drive it back (about an hour drive).  Then we will have a great big Hoorah when we pull it up the driveway!!

YeeeeeHaawwwwwww!!!
