We arrived at 6:00AM this morning.  Fabulous week in Marathon.  Weather was windy at times but terrific.  Used the heater slightly for two nites and the air for one.

Everything turned out fine although we had a rocky start (See another thread...)  Cannot tell you all how comforting it is to know you all are there.  Can't think of many steps we do when putting up or taking down that does not remind us of something we read here!

As always, sent several folks we met to the site.  I know there was a discusson sometime back of brouchures to pass out.  Did we ever get that togther?  Whoever we speak to with PU's are always interested.

We even ran into a fella with one of the home made PVC bike racks.  He paid $100 for the plans as a kit.   m-m-m-m-m-  That would have been 5 years of dues!

At the height of some of the strongest winds we have ever experienced, the pop-up gizmos held tight!!  We did remove the one from the windward side, but the other 2 were fine. (We have a 02 Utah)

We have been around for awhile but it never stops amazing us how being a part of this community (that is what it is, a community..) is like having an additional insurance policy, some super experts, counselors and friends, all rolled into one!  Thanks everyone.

We got back on Saturday from our week long stay at Sunshine Key RV park on Big Pine Key!  It was a fantastic week!  The weather was sunny and gorgeous all week long.  We went to Bahia Honda SP beaches several times.  The snorkeling was fantastic.

You had a lot of wind?!?!  We only has some stiff wind on one evening... Wednesday, I think it was.  I had trouble getting a pot of water to boil on the outside stove.  The wind was wiping around and reducing the flame drastically.  I finally "wrapped" a long sheet of aluminum foil around the stove and made it into more like a tent.  This kept the wind out and the water boiled in no time.

I'm surprised you used the heat 2 nights!  Must have been early in the week.  The air was dry so the coolness of the night air felt wonderful to us and we slept with all the windows open (we are originally from the Northeast so cool to us may have been chilly to you).  The last 2 nights we ran the ac.  Not so much for coolness but to dry the air out.  It got a bit muggy at night towards the end of the week.

I kept my eyes peeled for other PUT bumperstickers but saw none.  Come to think of it, I mentioned to DH how very FEW pop-ups we saw down there! Mostly big rigs!

We got back from a trip to the beach, too.  :D   Only it was a lot colder and rainy at the end.  Glad you both had a good trip. :)

We got home Sunday from a great week in Key Largo.  We sayed at America Outdoors.  It was a bit windy Sunday and Monday but it didn't keep us from the beach.  DH got in 10 dives and he and DD did a snorkeling trip to a reef.  We're all tan and rested.  DD went back to school today, DH went back to work today but I took the day off to get caught up around here.

Back to reality (23 second graders) tomorrrow!

We drove over 2300 miles and didn't see another PUT bumper sticker either!

I think it was Sunday or Monday night, the wind was really heavy.  We had an ocean spot on the Gulf side just a couple feet from the water so that may account for the wind.  We had the same trouble making coffee in the morning with the wind so i took it inside.

You were right about the lack of pop-ups.  We did not see alot and were only one of three at our park.  We drove through several other parks just to get a feel of the area for the future and we saw only one or two.

Returning on Sunday was a little hard to get into stating the usual Monday thing....but we survived!   Kids are still talking about the snorkeling!
