Well, now that the house is sold I can start thinking about camping.

I spent most of the day getting the camper ready for spring camping.

Dug it out of the garage and "un-winterized it".  All the pink stuff is gone and the water system has been flushed with bleach solution.

I removed the HWH bypass kit and was able to fill it and test the new T&P valve.  The water got nice & hot with no leaks.

So, I guess it's time to start thinking about a weekend camping trip.  I might make it out next weekend close to home, but the DW will be out of town.  I guess it will be just Natasha & I.

I dewinterized my PU last weekend and now it will be 19 to 22 degrees at night on Sunday and Monday nights.   I am not sure what to do.  Any suggestions?

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it.  19 - 22 would be the lows of the night.  I'm sure it is getting warmer durin the day.  It would take many hours of sub 32

Gone-Camping

I did my de-winterizing a couple of weeks ago, today I spent a good part of the day in and around the trailer getting things ready for next weekend's Spring Fling. I'm leaving on Thursday afternoon, and want everything ready to roll by tomorrow night (Sunday). I placed the trailer goods (spices, dish soap, wash soap, shampoo, coffee, sugar etc.) aboard today, plus I replaced the batteries in the smoke detector and the Carbon Monoxide detector. Tomorrow I'll have to remove the tanks and run them down to get them filled, one is empty, the other is nearly empty!I'm itching to go, it's hard to believe I'll be camping 5 nights from now!!! :D

We will beat you Cliff.  We will be camping on Wednesday.  My plan was to have everything done on Sunday too.  Now I am waiting to load the stuff until Tuesday after work. :(   I have piles of stuff sitting in the house waiting to move it to the PU.  I am going to restock some things like paper plates and towels tomorrow, but not any liquids or can goods. :)

Tim, why don't you join the Virginia Campers at Pocohantas State Park just south of Richmond.  They're letting us come next weekend and we're from Bethesda.  That 100 miles south is all to the good given the weather we've been having!

I'd love to make it, but I won't know if I have next weekend off until Wednesday or Thursday.  That combined with not getting off Friday until around 4 PM would mean I couldn't make it to the park before 9 or 10.

If I make it out, Tuckahoe will have to be it.  35 minutes from the house.

Tracy, I just brought my Niagara in for the whole blah blah service, brakes / bearings / Spring flush & pressure test / AC filters / New hot water Anirod / water filter / oh yeah added a second propane tank !

Can't wait !

I have most stuff ready to back into the camper, it was just too cold and windy this weekend here to do much out side.  Will be at Pocahantas on Friday, Lord willi'n and the crreks between here and there don't rise.

11 more days til we leave for Disney. I have to sanitize and flush the system this weekend. We have been loading the camper with stuff for two weeks, nice to have an 1800lb CCC in the camper. Not sure how much will be in the back of my truck. Sure will be nice to leave the cold temps behind for a few weeks.

Can I provide any Disney info for you???
