I can t believe that my computer crashed and now I am in the process of reloading everything.  I downloaded some newer versions of my old software and now my AOL isn t compatible with it!  How frustrating!!!!  Now I have to wait for AOL to send me an older version to put on my computer before I can use AOL again.  It just keeps freezing up when I try to sign on.   I hate computers!  Just had to vent.[image]

Ernhrts3n8Can I ever sympathize with that one!!
I got an upgrade to mine for xmas and part of it was an incompatable sound card.
Had everything all back up and all was well......till the next day...couldn t do a thing.
Not even a total boot up.
By that time my son reformatted the HD that all my back up was on[:(]
 Nothing like reloading things twice[:@]

Ernhrts3n8Darlene, maybe this is a sign for you to drop AOL and get a decent ISP. Most all of them now allow you to import your address book & buddy list from AOL and have messengers compatable also.

Ernhrts3n8I upgraded to XP a few weeks ago and lost everything.  Had to buy a new scanner, because they don t have drivers for my old one that will work with XP.  I lost all my email addresses, links, etc.  I know the feeling.  The good thing is all the garbage on your computer is gone now.[:D]

Ernhrts3n8Mike,  the reason that I want to stay with AOL is because the parental control features are much easier to work with than with my Cox cable connection.  With the cox or internet explorer I would have to type in a password for every single page that my children went to, with AOL the parental controls are in there for you, it s just much easier.  The problem was with the Musicmatch software not being compatible with the AOL software.  I am going to get rid of the newer musicmatch version becuase I really don t use it that much and will download the AOL 8.0 again.  Before the newer music match was on the computer the AOL worked just fine.

We have something in common. I was off for new years eve and spent the whole day reformating my hard drive and reloading everything also. Everytime i went to reboot .The darn thing would lock up. When i would ctr, alt, delete. to bring up the program that was causeing me problems and shut it down. The computer would show in the box unknown program. Well if the computer does not know what program is screwing it up how am i suppose to know. I even tried reloading my backup discs to repair any damage  and the thing goes discs won t work on this computer. I don t know why it wouldn t thats were they came from in the first place. So it was reformat time.
