DD and DH are planning their anual end of school trip. ( I get to stay home and work the teacher workdays.)  I seem to reall someone talking about a great c.g. in or near Nags Head?

They will need hook ups, a beach and/or pool and a pet friendly park as they will be taking the d-springer spaniel.

Thanks in advance!

We hit the outer banks a few times a year and recomend Cape woods in Buxton. VERY clean, close to every thing! Oh yeah, WOODED SITES!!!!

The best one down there is is Ocean Waves Campground, located in Waves NC. It's inside the Hatteras National Seashore, but within the village of Waves. It's not huge, only 80 sites, full hook-up's including cable tv for $25.50 per night (based on family of four) They are ocean front with their own private beach access, they also have a pool, store, and small game room. They do allow pets. They also have shade tree's in many of the campsite's, something you should take deep consideration of!!! Under a hot NC sun, the shade will be highly welcomed! Pictures & write-up here..

This place is about 1/2 mile past Camp Hatteras & 1/4 mile past the KOA, located on the left (Ocean side) as you head south on Rt-12. Friendly, family owned and operated campground. Getting a camp site is the most difficult part, but they are open now so call and make reservations! (252)987-2556...

BTW, this is only about 1/2 hour south of Nags Head, so if you want to go up to the more commercialized part of the outerbanks, it's not that far off.

My second suggestion would be Camp Hatteras, same amentities, but no tree's and twice the price (about $55 per night)....

My son skim boards and we will be going to Kill Devil Hills for a skim contest this July.  I was just sitting here debating whether or not I wanted to take the camper and go camping while we are there OR just stay in a hotel.  Skim City is putting it on and I have no idea as of right now, exactly where it's going to be.

It's your money! You won't find a motel room for $25.50 per night, not even the sleazy motels (although I don't think there are many sleazy motels in Nags Head)...

As long as it's not July 4th weekend, you should have no problem getting a camp site...

Thanks,

I'm just trying to decide if I want to pull the camper up there or just stay in a hotel.  It will only be for 3 nights and it's just me and the kids.  DH won't be making this trip.
