Ganis/E-Trade Finance has held the loan for our pu until we paid it off today.  I have seldom dealt with a more problematic company.  Over the two years we had the loan we ALWAYS sent the payment early enough to arrive by the due date.  However, on a number of occassions, our payment was not posted until after a late fee was due.  In talking to them their personnel were rude and refused on several occasions to let me speak to a supervisor when requested.  I was always told that they posted payments on the day received, yet I could track the delivery and see that up to a week passed sometimes before the payment was processed.  When confronted with this they would say nothing but still refused to adjust fees for us.  I feel I need to make others aware of the way this company has done business with us so that they can avoid them if at all possible.  In addition to this post I am in the process of filing a complaint with the BBB.

I fully realize that others may have had satisfactory dealings with this company, but I really feel I need to make my friends on this board aware of the way this company has dealt with us.

Thanks for listening.

abbear,

I know what you mean. Beware of Capital One Loans. If they don't post it as it arrives, before the time frame or it is late, the interest rate goes through the roof automatically. You may have had a rate at 4.2% but now it is 18%.
I have to say not me but my daughter.

I dealt with an insurance company that was like this years ago and I can't remember which company it even was, but we (sadly) took to sending our payments by certified mail.  They got the payment on time, but it would sit in their mail room for a couple weeks before it would get processed.  They still considered it late even if it was in their mailroom.  It's sad when you have to send a payment in a MONTH in advance for them to not consider it late!

You should complain to anyone that will listen!

I had the same problem with my Bank of America credit card.  No matter when I sent the payment in, it was always late.  They also later started sending me the statement about 5 days before it was due, so no matter what, payment was late.  The people were rude and I discontinued the card and will never use B of A again, for anything.
