I was informed, by a co-worker,  of construction on I-81 south near the Pine Grove KOA.  You will want to get off I-81 at the exit for Ravine.  There is major construction on I-81 south of the Ravine exit.  The exit is at the bottom of a steep hill.  At the end of the ramp you turn right and you will go under I-81.  At the stop sign (by the truck stop) turn right again.  This will put you on 125 headed toward Pine Grove.    In the town of Pine Grove there is a traffic signal.  Go straight at the signal and you will be on 443.  Stay on 443 and it will take you to the park.  You will intersect I-81 again on the way to the park.  It is about 11 miles from the exit to the park. :)

On I-81 south of there, or on I-81 southbound from there?

I do remember construction last year that, knowing PA, is still going on.
It was coming down from up North just North of Exit 100, before I-81 swings towards Harrisburg and merges w/22 & 78.

I imagine you are coming Northbound out of Harrisburg.  I think you can get off I-81 at the Exit for Rte #934 (not sure of exit number - might be exit for Fort Indiantown Gap), take #934 to Rte #443 (Moonshine Road) and that will take you right to Pine Grove.  CG will be on your left, can't miss it.  Well, I could!!!!

Se ya there.

Sorry about the confusion.

If you are coming in from the north, driving South on I-81.

The same co-worker informed me today, that there is a second patch of construction on I-81 that is further north that the construction he first told me about.  He said that I would need to go through the first construction site and then the road opens back up for a few miles.  That I should still get off at the Ravine to avoid the longer construction site.

I don't know how far south the construction goes, but he thinks people coming from the south (driving north) will exit before the construction begins. :)

When I was speaking with the campground, they are alerting folks to take exit 90.  At least I think that is the exit.

WYNOT,

That sounds about right for those who are traveling North out of Harrisburg.

I think the real tie-up is supposed to be all us folks coming from up North down I-81. Somewhere between exits #107 and #100.  The normal exit to the CG is #100 but I suspect that the recommended alternative is to get off at exit #107 (Ravine), travel down Route #125 to Route #443 and then over to the CG.

Copcarguy..... You were just down that way.  Was there construction then.  Maybe not at that time.

To be 100% honest, the last trip down there it was dangerously foggy and so windy the rain was moving sideways.  I almost pulled over a few times, but I was afraid I would get rear-ended.  So instead I just slowly plugged along praying.  We could barely see 1/10th of a mile in front of us.  I don't remember being stuck in traffic for any length of time.  I hope we miss the traffic this time.
