Guys/gals please be careful if you have headache on an almost always continuous way.

We were visiting the new hope representative lady at the new site she is working this weekend with wifey. She mentioned that her son had a stroke and almost lost sigh in his right eye, but recovered it, but now he sees everything double when he looks at things with both eyes. Everything has a ghost secondary image probably never to go away. His blood pressure after the stroke was 210/125, and his right eye was full of blood. Doctors told him that he should have died long time ago.

Afetr we left, we remembered that months ago she was asking me about his son and his headaches as I had mentioned to her that after starting to take the BP pills my headaches had stopped. Later I recalled almost begging her to ensure that his son have her blood pressure checked as his headache sounded just like the ones I had. I thought I had made my point with her when she said she would tell her son.

Obviously he did not get checked ..... I wish I had asked her again and again and again ... Her son is only 35 and now permanently vision imparied ..... If you have headache, see your doctor, worst come to worst use one of the blood pressure machines ....... if it is above normal go see your doctor ....... the machines will tell you what is normal or considered high ..... Don't let this silent killer get you too

Birol, I must point out that I'm so happy to see that your blood pressure problems have settled down.  I was getting a little concerned a while back when it seemed like you were taking your blood pressure about every 5 minutes and making yourself crazy about it!  Good to know that your headaches are pretty much a thing of the past.

I have headaches from a completely different condition that came up more than 2  years ago so I know how miserable they can be.  I also suffer from insomnia too, which contibutes to the headaches as well.  Or is it vice-versa?  Anyway, it's a relatively simple surgical fix... I really should get it done.

Sorry to hear that you suffer from insomnia and headaches ... Insomnia would do me in, in no time at all ...... When I can't sleep sometimes, I go bananas !  I hope it is not a serious thing, have it taken care of before it starts to wear you out ....

This is a very good warning, Birol.  A friend of mine had an eye exam on a Monday and usually is at a music making on Tuesday.  When this was missed, I called the next day to see if everything was ok and got the story of the eye exam and how there was a headache because the eyes didn't quite go back yet.  I said to call the Drs. immediately and tell them because it should not take 2 days after an exam and especially the blurred vision.  Well, the advice was not taken and on Thurs around Noon the ambulance had to be called and yes, it was a stroke getting worse.  Be aware that amazing things can be done if a stroke is caught very early and it can sometimes mean the difference in a short rehabilitation as opposed to a very long one with a lot of suffering.  The other thing might be death and no recovery.  Some people just have a high tolerance of pain and really don't think the symptoms are serious.

Just a note... strokes don't always involve pain.  Don't assume you AREN'T having a stroke, just because there is no pain involved.

Yeah, Cindy, you are right to a degree but different people have different perceptions of pain in relation to their symptoms.  A visual disturbance may not be perceived as pain to some but it will be to others.  I was just pointing out the case with my friend who has a high tolerance for pain and will also tolerate a lot of symptoms before seeking medical care.

Yes, visual impairment of any kind and get yourself to the emergency department ! I think these are the only real symptoms and unfortunatley it might be too late, so, why don't you always have it checked on those free machines say once a week or something ?
