Has anyone taken there converter out? Well don't do it unless you absolutly have to.  :eyecrazy:   I noticed after disconnecting from shore power at the ralley last Friday that my lights wouldn't work off of battery power. Well I checked the wiring from the battery into the converter with my multimeter and it showed that I had just over 12 volts going into the converter with battery only. With the AC cord plugged in I had lights but without it I had nothing. So I took the converter out and disasembled it. See warning above. After checking the DC side and not finding any problems I check the wire leading from the battery with a test light and nothing, but the multimeter shows 12+ volts.   So I check the wire with the test light at the tonge and it has power. Then I check it under the PU were it leaves the frame and goes into the floor and it is dead. So after all the work of removing and reinstalling the converter the power lead is dead somewhere in the frame. I'm soon going to know what Birol went through fishing the new wire in.

Not only took one out of a Jayco, I took it apart to find a blown fuse! What's more it wasn't MY camper, it was my BIL's!
Anyway, you are right it is not for the faint of heart! I don't know where they find those little people with snake-like hands when they build these things!!!

I just got the wire replaced and the lights work fine now. What I can't understand is that the old wire has contonuity on it when we checked it. I threw it away just incase it was an intermitant problem with the wire.
