Beautiful SP on the shores of Lake Jocassee.  Sites are spacious and shady.  Most are back-in.  Electric and water provided at RV sites.  Some primitive camping in the main park and with boat only access.  All sites are reservable - the only totally reservable park in SC at present.  Cost = $18/night with 2 night minimum when reserved.  Reservations may be made from 2 days to 11 months prior.  Plenty of hiking trails nearby and fishing is supposed to be great (trout and crappie).  This park is supposed to be booked solid most of the year so reservations are a must.  We went this past weekend and found plenty of available sites however.  Wouldn t plan on that happening after Easter though.  The only negative was the bathrooms.  They were large, heated but lacked hot water when we went to shower about 8:00 PM.  The ranger said this was due to excessive usage however the park was only 1/4 full so what happens during the busy season.  There was ample hot water the following morning however.  The women s bathroom didn t look like it had been cleaned the whole weekend (pieces of paper laying on the floor on Friday were still there on Sunday) and the toilets were also pretty scummy.  DH said the men s bathroom was clean (would he know?).  I would go back to this park again because you can t beat the location, atmosphere, beauty.

Hi,  I'm sorry you had a somewhat bad experience at Devil's Fork.  I have camped here many times in my tent as well as in groups with folks with pop-ups.  It is, in my opinion, the best place to camp, but summertime can be hard to get in it is very busy.  My experience has been that the facilities normally are well taken care of.  As with all things, unfortunately, we are at the mercy of whoever is on duty at the time and it sounds like that weekend was the pits.  Anyone thinking of camping her don't give up on it because in my experience it is generally a perfect weekend!

How is the terrain coming into the park from the Southeast . Are there many large inclines or hills . Just wondering how the towing is .
Thanks,

SC is pretty flat.  You shouldn't have any problem.
