Well, we finally stayed in a very nice Massachusetts State park- Wells SP near Sturbridge, MA.
Campsites were large, clean and pretty far apart in the section we were in. We were at site 32. Bathrooms were clean, (that was a first for us in MA!), and the staff was very professional.
 We will camp there again!

Do you know anything about October Mt. SF in Mass?  We will be staying there in Aug.  Thanks.

Hi HersheyGirl! We have never stayed at October Mtn State Forest, so can't give you first hand experience. The unoficial Guide to Best RV & Tent Campgrounds gives it 3 stars.
If you've stayed in MA State Parks before, and go not expecting much improvement, you won't be disappointed! We've stayed at Lake Dennison S.P., Mohawk Trail State Forest, and Horseneck State Reservation, in addition to Wells. Wells was the ONLY one with clean bathrooms!
I should add that despite the varying degrees of cleanliness, we had a great time on each trip!!

Thanks Gary,  looks like the PahaQue Teepee will be getting a workout on this trip.:eyecrazy:   I have never been to Mass state parks before, so therefore I do not have any idea what to expect.  It should be a fun experience.  I will let you all know how it goes.

Yes, please let me know as I've thought that I'd like to try October Mtn. sometime.  Can you recommend any campgrounds in PA, either along the Delaware Water Gap, near Lancaster, (Wife is a quilter) or any place there is good paddling?
Spent all my summers as a kid in Hazleton, PA and near White Haven, PA and still love the state, but haven't been down that way to camp yet!
Thanks!

I've posted several times about how nice Wells SP was, I was very impressed, stayed there about a week, even Lee & Andrea (Firefyter-EMT and ACTs) came up to came there and met with us.

You were right down the road from the site I had, I was in #29 on top of the hill, big huge site, pull through...

I wouldn't hesitate to go there again either!

Gary, are you interested in a private or state park campground?   There are several good private grounds in that area.  Bearbait knows all of the PA campgrounds, might try asking him.  Dave, at PUT suggested a really good one in that area, but I can't remember what it was.  He said that it had water tubing and was really fun.  I will try and find out.

Usually prefer State Parks, although wouldn't automatically rule out a private park!
