Starcraft Dad

Last year was the year from H***. We had several deaths in the
family, broken arms, illnesses one right after another and other
what nots. This year we thought things were going to improve
greatly. It's May and everything was fine or so we thought.

My wifes aunt and uncle were snowbirds. Leaving Michigan in their
class A motor home and wintering in Florida. There they would spend
the winter and then spring would come home and so would they. This
past weekend they were coming home and in north Florida, their motor
home was hit by a semi truck. They were in the 70's and they were
both killed instantly. Apparently it was the aunts fault, she
pulled off the ramp onto the expressway right in front of the
truck. The truck tore through the front of the motor home,
completely demolishing it.

I guess what I am really writing about is please, please be very
careful when coming off a ramp. You may think you have time to get
in that lane but most times those big trucks are going faster than
they look. It doesn't matter if you have a motor home, pop up,
travel trailer or what. I don't want to lose anymore of my internet
camping friends.

I am so sad to learn of this starcraftdad. My condolonces to your family. I have read about similar incidents at a frewaay entrance ramp where we live as well. even though the ramp is almost a mile long people panick because of the way it turns and try to change lanes prematurely.

Hopefully this will be the only sad event for your family this a very long time  :(

I am sorry for your loss.

This is very sad.  It is so awful to lose anybody you love, but this way is tragic.

I am very sorry!  I do have to say being seventy and dying in my camper instantly with my husband by my side wouldn't be such a bad way to go.
It's so tough for those left behind, though, especially to lose two loved ones at once.  :(
