Lee,
You don't know how much happier we all feel with Birol having had his popup checked out by a pro like you.
Thanks for taking the time to spend with him and his new toy, checking out the tires and re-packing the wheel bearings were very important before a novice like Birol went towing for 600 miles.
I just hope his wife is as excited as he is.
Thanks for the photos, and even though it does need a litle bit of work and TLC, he will feel like he is in a palace compared to the Moat!!

Quote from: Firefyter-EmtThanks.. I am an Insurance appraiser) On top of the typical cars, I have a school bus, a Class A motor home, and a F-450 Dump truck. Then again, I saw a super strech limo that hit a moose today. :yikes:

a stretch limo that hit a moose?   :eyecrazy:   Oh, my!!  You know, Lee, you just may have the most interesting job of anyone on the board

There was this one time down on the south shore in Carver that I did an appraisal on a porti-potty.. Well, they said it was a trailer, but it was more like a 2" angle iron box frame for a "Sani-Mate" potty. LOL, That file realy stunk :D

Thanks for the pics... for a 36yr old PU, there doesn't seem to be much wrong.  It may be the original canvas.  For the other things, they sound minor and it will give Birol something to keep him busy, but not major enough to keep him from using it still this summer.  He most probably could hold off till his camping season is over before working on it. Plus, doing the work himself will give him more pride in the PU.

Lee, did he say when he expected to be home?

I'm sure it'll be sometime today and we'll be hearing from him as soon as he gets in the door.

I can't tell you how much I've felt like some mother hen worrying and clucking about how B was doing with his adventure.  I'm so relieved now to know that things are going so well.  And Lee, it might not be fair to load everything onto your shoulders, but I (along with lots of others here) was sure that if there were any problems you would take care of them.   And you certainly did.  Like Elisa said, some people talk about their faith and commitment to God and their fellow man, and some people live it.  You and your family will hold a place of honor in God's eyes.

I just thought of something Birol is going to have to get for his popup. If the laws are the same or similar in Canada he is going to need a new propane tank. I am guessing by looking at his that it is over 12 years old. After that they need to be recerified.  :(  Also it doesn't have the over fill protection valve. Without it he may not be able to get it filled. At least if he would happen to be south of the border.

Great pictures and wonderful news -- that not too much work will be required.  Birol seems the type to be able to handle most of the work himself.   Hopefully, the work will required very little money and mostly elbow grease and time.  With Birol's wonderful luck lately, he'll get a great job and won't have time to work on his new pop-up!!! :yikes:     :#

People like YOU are why I continue to stay on this board!  :-()

Yep, we went over that too.. His brass line has a kink in it dangit!! I was going to see if I had a flare bit big enough to re-flare the line and forgot! It is easy to get done, If he gets a new brass flare end put on it with the line cut about 4" from where it exits the frame in the front, he can then just buy the new style fitting hose pigtail and either steal his BBQ tank for the camper or buy a new one.. (Me, I will take the BBQ one.. Heck, I will not be using it at home if I am camping)

BTW, I think he is to be back today.. it was about a 10 hour drive and I think he was splitting it in 2 days.
