It's time to recaulk the roof on my 2001 Coachmen Clipper.  I have a few questions and I figured I'd ask the Pro's.  Do I need to remove all the caulking or just the spots that look bad?  What is the best way to get the old caulking off?  Last but not least, is there a special kind of caulk to use?  I really don't want to mess this job up so, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey,eveyrbody we need some answers here!!  How come people have stuff to say about bearings and tires (good subjects of course)  but no advice about this?

I want to know how to caulk my roof when it gets worn--SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP either with information or a place to find it!

I recaulked my Jayco this Spring and based on advise it the Fix It thread, I did NOT even attempt to scrape off the old! I used a caulking that I bought at a RV dealer but since I gave the tube to my BIL, I can't tell you what it was except that I think Dicor was the brand.
I spread a bead of caulk next to the old caulking, then ran my finger along it to spread and smooth it.
It came out looking pretty good!

I don't have much I could say about this, had a couple of old Starcraft's but they didn't require a lot of caulking, and the Coleman/FFT certainly didn't need caulking. Now the Coachman & Vikings from what I understand require recaulking something to the tune of yearly, but most of the units out there don't have this requirement, only to recaulk as necesary...
