Turn Key

Well, I guess the time was going to come when I was going to have to say goodbye.  Got an e-mail yesterday that stated that my subscription had lapsed and that my connection to PUT would be turned off on 06/15.  Knew it was coming soon, just not sure when.

I've been with this 'board almost since the beginning.  Don't even remember now how many changes in systems it's gone through.  I was here when it went to a "pay" board and watched all the hassle over that.  To be honest, this was the very first messageboard I had anything to do with.  When I came on board here, I was just learning how to use a PC!  Didn't even have one.  Was using one at the library, just trying to find out if I wanted to invest in one of my own.  Learned a great deal about PC's and messageboards through PUT.  Also taught me what to watch out for on other 'boards.

In the number of years I've hung around here, I've learned a good bit.  Hope I've been able to share a bit with others.  I've enjoyed my time here but really can't see that my presents here adds anything anymore.  That being the case, I'm going to let my membership laps and move on.  I wish nothing but good fortune for PUT and all the members here.  I hope that the 'board remains strong and grows stronger.  I want the bond between members here to continue and thrive.  I wish nothing but the best for all and, as always,

Happy Camping!

Same sentiments here too.

My subscription to the PUT mag and the forums comes at a transition in my life where I am about to move my family 5,000 Km (from Nova Scotia to Alberta), and the hassel to resubscribe... disconnect my internet setup for the move... then reconnect and readjust my membership to the new Ip address etc.... etc.... is just too much to deal with right now.

I too have been around here for some time.... remembering the old forums and the changes that have occured since I first came to find PopUp Times. I look forward to my future, and wish everyone here at PUTs, one that is full of fortune and goodness. To Dave and the folks at PUT... It's been a genuine pleasure having come to know you... even if it was only through this forum.

Good luck to everyone.... and have a great day!  :W

So sad to see both of you go.  Just remember, if you ever change your mind, get lonely or just miss us ;) , we'll still all be here -- in some form or another...   :W

Hey guys, BOTH of you:  I'm really sorry to see you leave.  You've both been such good cyber-friends to us  here and  I always read your posts with interest and enjoyment.  But sometimes it just comes time to say "goodbye" and it sounds like you have reached that time.  I'll miss your presence and sure do wish you both happy camping and happy trails always. :W

So sad to see two good and valueable members go!  Best of luck with all your endeavors.

All these changes brought some poigniant lyrics to mind...

To everything
Turn, turn, turn
There is a season
Turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under Heaven
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

To everything
Turn, turn, turn
There is a season
Turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under Heaven

A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace
A time to refrain from embracings

To everything
Turn, turn, turn
There is a season
Turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under Heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time for love, a time for hate
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late

To everything
Turn, turn, turn
There is a season
Turn, turn, turn

All,

I understand about moving on.  I have been in the military for a LONG time.  I have made so many moves that we still have some boxes packed from a couple of duty stations ago.

I got that same notice.  I am going to reup.  1. The price has dropped and the Magazine is covered with the board.   It is the only Popup magazine that I know of right now.

There are plenty of free places out there. But just like supporting the local car repair shops and Mom and Pop places.  This is it.  Heck I go to them all.  I am not much of a poster, but a big reader.  When i get all spun up about camping this is the first place I end up.

Heck, I spend more on beer in one month than the price of keeping something I like alive.  If the board went away, I would still get the magazine.

Back to moving.  I started getting the magazine in VA, then KS, then TN, and now KY.  Heck Dave even sent me one in Iraq.  In fact he sent me a bunch and I handed them out to the troops.

The magazine will follow.  The computer is one of the first things that get setup when ever we move.

Support what you like; the rest will take care of itself.

Yup, we got it too!  It came at a tight time, but I couldn't do with out PUT!!!  I talk with some of you more than some of my extended family!!!!

I'll miss both of you as well.  I know that both of you have answered many questions for me, sometimes before asked them.   You now that there will always be a place for you in this community.
