Many of you probably are already aware of and using this website, but I just found it.  It looks like a really neat place to make use of the things we no longer need or want, and gives us a chance to also find something we may be looking for.   It's www.freecycle.org  and it's a nationwide group, but has local chapters all over the country.  Just thought you might be interested.

I love that show, and the intention is there to "clean sweep", but it just doesn't work... last year we had a yard sale and sold only a few items.  Wanted to get everything out of the basement and garage and just send it to a charity, but DH has a thing right now about "giving away"; said we should try on ebay.  OK that was last summer, almost a year later and still no ebay selling.  I can take pics with digital camera, but he has to download them and it just isn't happening.  Now he's complaining about not being able to move in the garage... duh.

Guess we'll see if things change in the next week or so, if not, I'm calling myself to get rid of it and he can just be upset.  What's worse... hearing him complain about giving to a charity OR all the "stuuf" all over the garage and basement.

eBay selling requires some dedication and time .... Once he got into it he would like it maybe you can help him and encourage him and stuff ? When I am slow Wifey pushes me gently ...... Sometimes it works sometimes not ....

I thought the samething ebay... but when I first starting selling on there it was small, now there is so much stuff on ebay it is not really worth it unless you have something very interesting... I use to save stuff for ebay , yard sales, etc, the clutter just got to me!! I just donated some more today...... my neighbor asked me where my car was... I was happy to say it was parked in the garage!!! Yes no more  stuff in there!!

Oh gosh...we just did the "Clean Sweep" thing through the house too!! I first had every intention of selling things on ebay.  I figured there was so much stuff I could make some decent money... so I let the stuff sit. When I finally realized the time it was going to take to take pictures, post them, track any sales, package stuff up, go to the mail place every time something sold...yuk, I'd never do it after working all day....so I figured ok, we'll just do a yard sale...duh...weekends that are nice enough for a yard sale are weekends I'd rather be camping...Not to mention, my townhouse yard isn't big enough for all the stuff we had!!   We finally realized the only way we were going to get rid of all this stuff was to donate it.  We had so much that we called two different companies to come get things. One for furniture, one for an entire truckload of just stuff...there still was a truckload left so DH loaded up the back of his truck and did another run to the Salvation Army.   How in the world do we accumulate so much junk???  Once i finish I'm sure I'll have two or three more loads of stuff to get rid of...and the thing is....you can't look around and tell anything is gone....Where does it all come from????

birol

It is that junk I sell o eBay folks :) Come on , send them to me hehehehhe (just kidding).  Our garage is also hhlaf full with junk which pays off Finally ... Watch me list more junk on Monday :) Most of it sells and it doesn't pour money in but even the trickle is enough to help me pay for incidental stuff ....

It becomes "junk" when we are bored with it and no longer want it.  LOL      If I had the time and the determination to make myself be more organized I'm sure I could have made a few bucks selling it. I just knew it wasnt' going to happen!
