Saw this on another forum about CFO (Campers Factory Outlet). Wonder if it's true...

The town he is in wanted the adult bookstores on either side of Barry (owner of CFO) closed down, so they condemned all of the property. What I am hearing from folks in the town is that several other local dealers wanted them gone, so Barry was unable to find property in the location that he wanted where someone would sell to him. Hopefully he'll find something in the future in another location. In the meantime, he's been forced to liquidate.

Unfortunately a good portion of of Barry's customers don't pay Wisc. sales tax, so it is difficult to get support for his cause from the powers that be. Small town politics at its finest!

Gone-Camping

They have had little to nothing on their website for months, so that helps explain things! He'll pop back up somewhere bigger than ever!!!

I called them today and the message said be back on June 15th. Maybe they took a nice long vacation??

He is quite a distance from the bookstores, it isn't on the same property so I find that "so they condemned all of the property." hard to believe.

I plan to call him on the 15th and see what's up. I bought my hybrid from him and the popup before that.

This was posted on rv.net by someone familiar with the situation...

It's a done deal. Barry and Dianna have closed the doors at Campers Factory Outlet. They had a store sale the week-end before last and a semi-trailer loaded the rest of the stock last week.

This is a sad time for all of us who've done business with Barry and Dianna. I now enjoy a New Vision 5er that I would never have been able to afford had it not been for them. Also, I have several friends that have received great deals there.

IMHO there were a lot of dirty politics associated with the loss of this business in our area and the lost benefit to the RV buyers of the future.

For those of us who bought Campers and/or other RV's from them, keep in mind that (as per Barry), they always made a fair profit from every unit they sold. This should be a lesson as to how much mark-up other dealers put on these units. I know that it was Barry and Dianna's enjoyment to sell RV's and put families and first timers into deals they could never have obtained elsewhere. I personnally have witnessed many times, upgrades added by Barry to ordered units at no cost as a surprize to the buyer at the time of pick-up.

For many of us in this Neck of the Woods we will miss them a lot.
