Just checking in on PUT to see if any on this board are interested in joining/starting a central Texas camping club. We have one tenitively started, and have had a few campouts. But, we need some families really interested in taking the "bull by the horns" to help get the club off the ground. If your are interested just respond to this post or email to centraltexas@juno.com

Also just a observation, I also have seen the thread's comparing the put board to pux. After reading some post here on put I can see some big advantages to having a slower board with far fewer people. Looks to me like the posts here can be more sincere and honest because with fewer people you can get to know all the poster's better and have a real "bond" with them. Also an pux you never know what kind of "yahoo" may be reading your post's. If your looking for detailed information from many sources PUX may be where to post. If your looking for the close knit community feeling, put is probably the place.

Hope there are some central texas campers out there -

MommaMia

First of all, sorry about deleting the duplicate thread in The Campfire.  This one should work.

So far, the only Texas groups I know about are the North Texas Pop-Up Camping Association and the Southeast Texas Pop-Up Campers Club.

If you are interested, you are mopre than welcome to try to put one together.

Pop Up Times believes to support pop up camping, we must support the many pop up camping clubs that have formed around the country.  PUT is proud to provide forum space for organized clubs to use for club activities such as trip planning.  These club forums will be free and open to all, no membership in the Arvee Club Message Board will be required to post.  The restrictions we will place on the use is that it is used for club activities only and that it not be used to generate traffic to any other web site other than a site belonging to your club.  General interest topics should be referred to the appropriate forum.

A club member will moderate each forum.  Please remember this is a family board so the moderator will be required to review the postings accordingly.

To qualify as a "club" you ned to have some sort of web presence other than the PUT forum and you need to have a link back to PUT.

Feel free to drop me an e-mail and we can discuss the matter off line.

Good luck
