Acts 2:38 girl

Does anybody know what time Birol left PA?  We expected him here about 3:30 pm, and now it's two hours later and - no Birol?
Any ideas?

OK,  He got in around 8:30pm!  Took the long way!   He and Lee are out to Home Depot right now getting roof stuff!

Firefyter-Emt

Nope, he took the short way.. Or the wrong way!! My fault, I should of warned him not to take Rt-95 thru New York in the day time!!

Roof is ripped to bits!! New shinny panels and insulation sitting in my shop.. Tomorow we attack!  :D

campingcop

Glad he made it to your place OK.

Take lots of pictures (before and after) so we can all enjoy what is being done to the camper.

Gone-Camping

So.... how about an update on the camper roof? Been awful quiet, run into problems or something?? I'm sure it's nothing Lee can't handle!

Glad to hear that he made it to you house OK.  I saw him leaving the campground and he was excited to be on his way. :)

Shhhh.. sneek preview.. Briol has taken about 6 trillion photos and will give you some when he gets home.  We got the roof back on today and just have to install the fan & connect the wiring harness to the 4 pin trailer plug we are using to pulg & unplug the roof wiring (we ran in on a support that folds back up to the roof, you will see better in his photos as it is not on yet on mine) The fuse block is the newer ATC plastic car fuses and has 6 fuse ports. We have used 3.. I ran a heavy 12ga ground as a common ground and branched off 16ga inside the roof. There are 3 power wires running into the roof. 1 for the fan, 1 for the dual lamps on each end and one for extra wires to be used for 12v 1/4" plugs at each end later.. We re-framed the inside (with biscuit joints!) to suit our needs (Starcraft had none!) and installed new 1" form insulation. The panels are also glossy white fiberglass.  So far we have 2 hours Friday, 13 Saturday, 8 Today and a few more on Monday or so to finish it up..  They are camping out in our camper in the yard now..  So anyway..

WOW! :# :# :#
You guys are doing a fantastic job! The roof looks like brand new factory
installed. I'm impressed ;)  Can't wait to see the rest of Birol's pics!

Firefyter-Emt

Well, it is brand new!! I like the sides.. They were not covered when new, just bare plywood.  I think the cost for materials is somewhere in the $250+ range though..

Did You Install The New Ceiling Fan Too?

Firefyter-Emt

The hole is there, we framed the hole with a box that is tire into the 2 new 1.5 x1 inch studs. The entire frame work is brad nailed & biscuit joined togather. This will give a full solid wood frame to screw to. I have it pre-wired and all that is left is to mount it and plug in the 2 wires.. (the stripe going from the harness to the hole is just masking tape marking some mounting points btw) I was going to do it today, but we got a little rain after we put the roof back on and had to move it in the shop so the roof was a little wet.. Tomorow the fan & roof will be done. We may take a run out to a camper supply store to see if we can get some lights, it depends on my work day..

Gone-Camping

Yep, thats the stuff I used on my first one, believe it's called Sani-lite... Great stuff!! Looks real good, now all he needs is some canvas! :D

birol

All I need is love , eee, I mean money :):):) That canvas is really dying, I touch it and it tears :( I am hoping that we will get two seasons out of it as I am afraid to look at my credit card bill right now.
