Question for all those who have one and use it for showers.

What do you do about the grey water runoff?  Do you collect it and dump it? (if so, how?)  Or do you just let it run off on the ground?

I'm looking at getting one and was wondering what the proper (or at least most common) 'grey water etiquette' was for that situation.

(Here's hoping I don't start a controversial firestorm! :yikes: )

I'm glad you asked this, Marty ~ I've always wondered!!  LOL

I'm a firm believer in CG bathhouses ... I clean enough tubs/showers at home!   That and I'm a little shy ;)

Looking forward to hearing the answers ...

shower water from outside showers normally goes into the ground, just use nature friendly soaps.
(bioegradable products)
it's the greases and oils from cooking the harm the enviroment. and the non-bioegradable soaps,

and you really don't use much water, since normally the shower is cold or it gets cold quickly!
by the way welcome to the boards! and your webshots aren't working!

Many areas require you to collect all gray water.  If we have to collect gray water, we put the end of the outdoor shower curtain in a Rubbermaid Tote and collect the water that way.

OK, when dry camping we use our Outside Shower all the time.  Now, dry camping for us is way out in the woods, not in a campground.  We just let the water go where it may.  But, we use biodegradable soap, limit water flow and make sure we have no run off anywhere near a water source.

If you are in a campground - use the bathhouse.  If you are in the woods, don't worry too much.  IMHO

What about when you are in a campground and they don't have showers? :yikes:
