I will be using it as a battery charger later on when I can get a battery. RIght now all the wires from the roof are going to a central place (to a fuse box, thanks Lee  ;) ) undeink. DO I just attach it there  temporarily and run the wires directly ? When I get the battery, I will want to connect the fuse box to the battery and just charge the battery with shore power.

Any opinions on where to put it ?  Will it make  whinign noise all night ? Should I put a switch on its input so that I can turn it off at night in case it is noisy ? Should I make a box for it outside ?

The charger should have aligator type clips, so you just clip the pos and neg on the wire lugs and go with it. I'd be careful to make sure the clips don't or can't come loose and touch each other, specifically make sure the red one can't somehow get loose and touch ground/frame etc... I doubt you'll have whine noise if only using it on the middle amp settings.

Once you do get a battery, I'd run on battery, then maybe trickle charge it only at night...that way you won't over charge the battery. If I understand you correctly, you're not planning on getting a battery before this trip...right?!?!
