Last weekend we stayed at a rustic campground. We want to stay at more rustic campgrounds but the vault toilets were more than my family could handle. The smell, especially when hot and then the recent porta-potty explosion got me thinking that I needed a potty room.

So, I went to Cabellas and purchased one for $99.99. It is a good size and easy to put together. Quite sturdy. It comes with a solar shower, outside towel bar for drying towels, a two tere shelf with the bottom shelf having a zippered inclosure, mesh pockets high above the shower line and another large mesh shelf.

I believe we will like it a whole lot more than those vault unsanitary potty rooms.

I've seen the Cabela's shower tents several times in the racetrack campgrounds. I have the Paha Que Tepee and we really enjoy it. We use it as a potty tent so we have an option to the public porta-potties. One of the track campgrounds doesn't have a bathhouse so we use it for showering there. Cabela's didn't come out with their shower tent until after I bought the Tepee. If both had been available at the same time, I might have gotten the Cabela's one instead. It's a little less expensive and looks quite as useful and well-made as the Tepee. I think you made a good investment!

Plus, look at all the ventlation you have!  :)

hehehe, will have to make sure the windows and doors are closed.  The neighbors might think it's a little to much ventilation.:yikes:

If you need that much ventilation you might want to change your diet. :D

In about 10 minutes we are off for the weekend to a rustic campground to do some dry camping. I will let you al know how the tent was. I want to see how well the solar shower works.

Have a great trip. :)

I have the PETT privacy tent (and the PETT porta potty).  Couldn't find it in Cabela's website (but it's in the new catalog i just received!) but campmor has it.  $95.

BTW, I only use the porta-potti for #1 and instead of buying the $2.00 wagbags I buy SBG 8 (?) from URinBiz.com $18.95 for a 1 lb jar of blue crystals that form a gel when "liquid" is added.  Biodegradable.  I use scented trash bags.  I found that several wag bags had disintegrated before I was able to use them!!

We got a Paha Que teepee with our Coleman Cheyenne  and were at a loss as to what to do with it at first.  DH had the idea to use it as a changing room, to keep some of the sand out of the p.u., while camping at the beach.  I was worried about how much could be seen through it so he set it up at home one day and then got in it and moved around.  You can't see much, just shadows.  We've used it in Florida three times now and in Michigan twice. There are spots where clothes can be hung up, on hangers even! We have a porta potty that we take when we know we'll be a hike from the bath house but we've never used it.

Plus, it's a great conversation starter with fellow campers.  "We're curious, is that an outhouse?"  One older couple in Michigan admitted to having a bet as to what we used it for, he said shower and she said outhouse.

Yup, it sure is! We almost always have people stop by and ask about it when they see it set up next to the camper. I think they're especially intrigued by the crescent moon on the door:

But, hey, if you were raised in a rural Southern small town like I was, you know EXACTLY what that crescent moon means! LOL!!

We've used it as a changing room, a potty tent, and a shower tent. It's come in handy quite often!
