We spent this past weekend at Wekiwa Springs and it was really great. The camping areas very level and private. There are nice size buffer areas in between most sites and most sites are shaded. The Springs were nice and cool as usual. The camp host had movies at night for the children which was a real treat. The only draw back is they state there is fishing available which is not the complete truth. They have allowed the bank around the fishing lake to grow up with weeds so bad there is no access for fishing. I would definitely return especially during HOT Florida Summers!

I was in the Winter Park FL area this week with work.  For something to do away from the hotel, I went to the SP twice to swim in the springs, walk a bit of the trails and of course, had to drive thru the CG just to check it out.

Looks like a decent CG from what I saw.  I loved swimming in the springs (would be great in very hot weather) and I'd also love to canoe the river.

I did walk around the lake you're referring to.  Yes, it would be hard to cast a line except in a couple of places.  Lots of algae seemed to be growing in the lake as well.

If we ever take the PU back to the Orlando area, that would be a nice natural diversion from the theme park area.  at least for a night or two.
