when did you realize you really were hooked on your PU (or other camper)?   DH and I have just begun thinking about selling our townhouse and buying a detached house.   We have gone to a couple of open houses to get an idea of homes in our price range and realized---- one of the first things we look for when we drive up is a place to park the PU!  Too many around here have strict Home owners rules and we've had to pay to park ours in a storage lot ever since we bought it.   We want it home so we can play with it when we want!  LOL

so..when did you realize you were hooked?

I knew I was hooked on our pop-up when I checked this board for all the latest mods!

Shortly after we got our first PU 9 seasons ago.  Started working on ways to make a shower. :D

We became hooked on our first trip 2 years ago.  Even now when I think it may be time to look at upgrading to a TT or Hybrid, I know I cannot bear to sell our pop-up.  Really, other than a full bathroom, I see no need for us to trade.

I also have enjoyed installing the modifications for our pop-up.  They really do both personalize the camper and make it hard to give away.

Besides, my childre love our camper; just for the fact it is fun.  Makes me feel good knowing that for now newer and bigger is not necessarily better.

Gone-Camping

I got the bug for a PU back when I was tent camping, just couldn't pack all the stuff I wanted to take into that T-Bird!!!

Be that as it may, I got really hooked on the Hybrid the very moment I stepped aboard it at the dealer. I stepped in (door is near the rear of the trailer) and looked down the length of it and said outloud to myself..."Look at all the room in this thing" I was completely amazed.

Now, being single and all several people have asked why I wanted something so big. Well, I guess it has something to do with the Niece & Nephew and their friends that I usually take along. Being single I'm used to having my space, and with extra bodies around, the PU just seemed too small & cozy for me. I wanted room to stretch....and by golly I got just that!!!

Campaholics

What hooked me was the first morning of the first trip.  I didn't have to get my creaky old body up off the ground. Yesssssss.  Hot water on demand, so every recipie dosn't start with boil two large pot of water for dishes.

As an adder, what hooked me on this board, was introducing me to the idea that there are mods to make.
