Two Turkish childen are also hostages, aged 9 and 5(Not sure about the age of this one) together with their mother.

Obviously their parents are working there , what a nightmare ....

I heard that families there - mothers with infants and children of all ages - accompanying their children to their first day of school. How horrific.

It's a nightmare even if Turkish children aren't involved!

I agree, it is a nightmare regardless of nationality of people involved. Terrorism at its worst !

P.S. The mother and the baby was amongst the 26 released. 9 year old sister is left behind ..... I hope this comes to and end with no harm to the children and hostages :(

What a horrible choice for a mother to make.  Take one child to safety, leave the other ALONE in harms way.   How horrible that a mother should be forced to have to make such a choice!!

The 9 year old girl can not be located :( She is not in the hospitals, also not identified as dead or wounded .......

I read this am that there are more than 320 dead.  So sad.  I just sat and cried and cried for those poor innocent children.  How sick are people that they deliberately target children.

Lets send all our prayers out for the children and their families.

She is not living anymore :%

One of the many dead children !

Poor child couldn't live her life. This is so sad :( I was hoping that she would survive .......She was exactly 8 years old and now she is dead :(

saw a detailed report on the aftermath of this  horrific  event this morning on CNN.  It is truly bloodchilling and heartbreaking--perhaps in some ways, worse than 9-11.   Several children appeared on camera briefly  reporting on their ordeal--clearly, even those who survived physically will never be able to lead normal lives.

Only someone completely  possessed by Satanic  hatred  could deliberately choose  innocent children as the targets of  this kind of  vicious, inhuman  attack.

Whatever sympathy I once  had for the Chechnyans' struggle to be free of Russia  has been completely destroyed.

I couldn't agree more with the tragedy talked about in this thread.   It seems to me that children and womem always seem to take the brunt of war and terrorism.  I remmber the pictures from Bagdad with our "shock and awe" assault and the same feeling comes.  It happening every where there is conflict never makes it easier.  Sometimes I feel very helpless in light of it all.  I would rather ignore it, but it doesn't go away, does it?
Do what you can

this is always the result of any kind of war--woment and children suffer the most.
