Sorry I am not participating much.  I have visitors (my parents) and just had surgery on Wednesday.

It was to repair deviated septum, reduce turbinates (moisturizing radiator type thingies in the nose) and removal of lots of scar tissue built up in the sinus cavities from chronic infection.  I had been dealing with very worrisome and debilitating symptoms for 3 years and finallly got to the point where I said, "Time to take care of ME!".  I'm still in so much pain from the surgery that I can't tell yet if it has fixed my chronic symptoms.

This surgery really nailed me good!  I am usually so good about dealing with pain but this was worse than I ever imagined.  The pain pills help, thank God!  But they also knock me for a loop.  And of course, I haven't been listening to the Dr.'s instructions of "DO NOTHING for 2 weeks".  How can I just sit there?  The house would look like a hurricane hit if I didn't at least tidy up now and again!

So although I'm not posting, I do pop in now and again.

Off to find my pills....

Gee Cindy me too!

Were you at Baptist Hospital here in Jax?  I was last week!!!  It was funny I was approved for 3 (but only got 2) nights, they kicked us out before the huricaine to fend for ourselves.  I almost started to like the pain meds.  But the plans for more children are out of the question now, lol.

As far as the hurricaine; We faired pretty good over here on the southside, lights only blinked and had satelite the whole time.  Just a few tree branches down in the yard.  I hear other areas of Jax had it worse.

Glad you're out of the woods, when are we going to take our surgery soals to lunch?  I got 6-8 weeks out of work (maybe I can squeeze in a camping trip before I go back to work)

Hay Brenda~ I was there this Wed.  Outpatient.  I wish I could have stayed the night.  I was in so much pain and so drugged that I couldn't even change back into my own clothes!  The plopped me in the wheelchair in my hospital gown, wheeled me to the front sidewalk and literally dumped me in the car and wished hubby good luck! How embarassing, though I was so out of it at the time that it didn't matter much then!

Hope you are feeling better. I was worried the last time I talked to you on the phone.

My kids were out of school for over a week because of the power outages!  They are supposed to start back on Monday.  We'll see.  We only lost power here at the house twice and for less than a day each time.  The camper sure came in handy when we did have outages! Fridge, stove, hotwater, fresh drinking water... the neighbors were jealous!

Lunch some time after next week is AOK with me!  Looking forward to it!  I am going a little stir crazy!

I hate that hospital!  They are so unprofessional.

You two take care of yourselves!  I'm sorry you're in so much pain - the house is going to be FINE - a little mess never hurt anyone (my house is a lot messy and we're still okay ;) )!

I had that surgery done 2 years ago, and BOY was it worth it! I didn't really have much discomfort. The enlarged turbinates were the biggest part of my problem. I was having several sinus infections a year. Have not had one or missed a SINGLE day of work since! My surgery went so well, that I would have it done on a yearly basis if necessary!

I'm sorry yours didn't go as well, but I hope you get to feeling better, and have as good of results as I have had.

Sorry you've been going through all that, but glad to hear you're doing better!!

I hope things are getting better for you.  However, I don't think anything could affect your sense of humor, it's always great!

Wow...sorry to hear about your surgery Cindy...and Mowalker! That just doesn't sound like a fun thing to do!  I do know what you mean about just sitting around though!  I had my ankle operated on a few years ago and for several days I was supposed to SIT and rest with it elevated. ..yeah, right..that lasted about a day and after that I'd wait until DH left in the morning, then get up and do the dusting, vacuuming, and straightening up first!  Just couldn't relax until it was neat.  ;>
