I Just returned from a few days of camping with DH up north. It is such a beautiful time to be outside in MI. Except for today's rain, the skies have been just brilliant, and the colors are changing rapidly. Lil Spanky had lots of fun running around like an idiot, chasing blue jays away from the corn wheel. (see my webshots for description of that) . DH will be coming home tomorrow, just for a few days and then back up again. Hopefully this big job will be done soon, at least before the weather gets bad. The only thing good about it is that it gives us a chance to camp. He may not think that's so good anymore, since he's actually more like living there.

haha, I just realised that it's not the weekend yet.  Well, it's hard not to get the days mixed up when you can camp from wed to fri

Hey, dummy ;) I thought you were going to share some Porky stories? :#:#

I didn't see the little guy, but I could hear him complaining in his little cartoon animal voice at the edge of the woods cuz Lil Spanky was guarding the corn pile so closely that he didn't dare to come out.  LS could hear him too, but was very confused and kept looking at me as if to say "do you hear cartoons in the woods too??"   Lucky for her and me that she didn't go searching.  Last week she was running circles around one that was trying to make it's way back into the trees for safety.  As soon as possible, it went up a tree, and LS never even thought about taking a bite.  This time.
If any one else has ever heard porcupines 'talking' you'll know what I mean by the strange sounding little voice they have.   Last week my DS made a remark that there was "some kind of strange animal with a growling stomach back in the woods by my bow stand."   DH went later and took a look, found a very large porky in the next tree over from DS.

They do like to talk to themselves.  :)  Most people don't know that they spend a lot of time in trees.  I saw a few of them on the road this weekend. :(
