Bags for Folding Chairs

I recently found a way to cut 10 minutes off out tear down time.
By throwing away the bags the folding chairs came in.
There are 6 of us, so we have 6 chairs, and 2 reclining chairs.
That's 8 chairs that I first have to find the bags and then have to squeeze the chairs into those bags.
Now I just fold them, and put them away in the storage compartment.
We just recently replaced 4 of the chairs, and I don't believe the bags did anything to extend the life of our old chairs.
3 of them had the plastic bases broken or cracked, and the fabric on the seats were torn, or stained, or even had a burn hole from a campfire spark.

Now, I did keep the bags at home, as they are nice to use if you are carying the chair some distance, to the beach, or a potluck, but as far as when we are camping, I am not using them again.

We gave up on ours too for the same reason!

I agree. You can also put a bungee around 1 or 2 chairs to keep them from expanding when no one is looking!  :D

In order to keep the chairs as clean as possible, I kept trying to stuff them into those form-fitting bags.  One day, in a fit of frustration, I marched them over to the dumpster.  Should have done it long before!

OK, now you talked me into it. The next time mine come out, they are not going back in. We have a spare chair bag from a broken chair, it is filled with the grandkids inflatable pool toys (deflated of course:))

I like keeping our chairs in the bags, only because they are rocking chairs and the bag keeps the detachable rocker set with the chair it came with. We got them mixed up once and what a PIA to get the right rocker on the right chair. Guess they are made to fit each chair and not be universal.

For non rocking chairs we use the regular bulky folding chairs. They have better back support ( got ones that have a multi position reclining back :) )
 and no bag!

I picked up a few folding chairs at Sams Club that had no bags..... just a strap that kept them folded. Hmmmmmm, what a novel idea!:) The bags that our old ones were in are now used for my tripods, a folding table and one has a tarp stuffed in it.

Folding chairs used with campers that fold... something just seems right with that!:D

I agree, the bags are usually thrown away.  We just stuff the chairs under the dinette for storage.

I think my bags are going to go also! What a pain!

I have two Coleman folding chairs that fit rather nicely into their bags.  Needless to say, these are the ones we use most.

I also have two of the older chairs that ARE a pain to get back into their bag, and are not as comfortable to boot.  These don't get used much, and sometimes I wonder why we even bother taking up the space with them...Next time they are taken out, they will either not make it back into the camper, or they will mysteriously lose their bags.
