I've heard people argue both for and against it.  We personally don't wax ours, but it probably wouldn't hurt it.

I haven't waxed ours, but I use a good rv wash regularly.  There are some good soft waxes that probably wouldn't hurt the finish.  If you trailer stays outside all year it may be a good idea, if it's garaged then probably wouldn't need it.

I want to wax mine- I have an older camper and it could use some help.  I have considered painting it, but haven't followed through.  Considered both doing it myself or going to an auto body shop.  Either way, I would have to remove all of the logos and stripes-They are pealing anyway.

I did just give my camper a good scrub using RainX wash and wax.  I used it full stregth and used a scrub brush.  It really did a good job.  The surface felt smooth-no longer dry.  Next step is to try to wax it for real.  I think I will try Nu-Finish (in the orange bottle).

Our Jayco tech said to use the Turtle wash that has wax in it. That seems to work for me.

Waxed ours last year.

Did half the first time for a test and it stayed much cleaner since it repelled the road gunk. Then did it all.

Wax them??  I didn't even know that you were suppose to wash them!!  :eyecrazy: Okay I did know that you were suppose to wash them, and I have... at least once that I can remember.   Well, the inside is clean, just can't say too much about the outside.  Maybe that would be a good Labor Day project for me to work on Monday.

I use liquid "Zip Wax" made by Turtle Wax on all my Auto's, RV's, Mountain Bikes and even fishing rods and reels, for over 11 years now. An old timer (fisherman) told me about how he kept his "saltwater rods and reels like new"... Just a little Zip Wax mixed in a bucket and sponge wash..... Cleans salt and grime well and leaves a very, very thin coat of protectant.......

Hope this helps.....

I use Simple Green to wash the PU.  I haven't waxed it, but it still looks good. :)

I have used Mother wax  several times this past year to remove the tar and grease and one thing lead to another and it it wasn't long before I waxed the whole camper. Mothers wax is also supoose to protect against harmful UV rays...ok that might be a stretch ~

I use Protect All on EVERYTHING.  I love the stuff.  I goes on really easy and makes a nice shine on the whole surface.

I now use it on the car, bikes, and I ever did the grill.

Great stuff.

I use Protect All on the bunkends and the inside.  I never considered using it all over the outside.:)
