Wanted to share with everyone only because I am so proud of my Rob Dog.  We have had 5 lessons on sheep and loving every minute of it.  He is a natural so the lessons are more for me.  It's a blast and I love watching him do what he was meant to do!!

Congrats.   Beautiful dog and I love watching the hearding dogs.  It's amazing how talented they are and they sure work hard for us.

We have an Australian cattle dog//beagle mix and she does this with kids.  Unfortunately, she barks and nips at their heals.  They don't like it very much.

Wish I could get our border collie/springer spaniel mix to do something like that...instead of laying around and shedding hair everywhere.......:eyecrazy:

Great Picture!  You all look like you're having a lot of fun!

I had a couple of shelties and they both would herd the kids and nip at their heels.  Drove the kids nuts!  Made the dogs feel useful, I'm sure.

Thanks for sharing.

It looks like great fun.  Do you have access to sheep when you aren't being trained?

Fishin BC

Right now this is our only access to sheep.  Twice a week.  He is going great at it and is beginning to slow down and back off the sheep which makes it a little easier on me.  Hubby calls it semi controlled chaos.  We adopted Rob through rescue and to have the opportunity to do what he was meant to do is so great.

This dog hates riding in the car.  He tolerates it especially when he sees the trailer hitched to the van and he knows he is going camping and fishing.  But after our first day on sheep he jumped in the van all on his own.  Draped himself across the back seat instead of slinking into his crate and road home with his head high like he had done the greatest thing in the world.

This may sound silly but this dog has become my heart.  Watching him turn from a frightened unsure rescue into this confident, brave and smart dog...I can't explain how much he has changed and how much he means to us.

Hey Fishin BC,
We adopted a Minature Australian Border Collie when we lived in Nebraska many moons ago. He was 10 years old when we got him with a very sad sorry to go with him. He was part of our family for another 12 years and was without a doubt the smartest, most easily trained dog we ever had. Can't say enough good things about him and I miss him to this day!
Congratulations on the new family member!
