I can get a free membership here... but it sounds too good to be true.. I checked and they have a few CG's within a short driving distance.

Anyone had any experience or know anything about them.

I don't know but I am always leery of deals that seem too good to be true beacuse they usually are.  The only campground listed in my area is a junk heap.  Buyer Beware!

well I looked at the listings for all the CA campgrounds and I reconized the names of a couple of them in the 1/2 price campgrounds and have never stayed at any of them. not that they're necessarily bad just that maybe there must be much better places to be.  the old saying "you get what you pay for" comes to mind
and $6/night doesn't sound appealing ..not in CA anyway.  maybe you can look at good sams website, your local auto club (AAA) and see how those listed are rated

Only place I recognized was Woods Valley in the 1/2 price section.  That is somewhere my family likes to go and I've taken my Girl Scout troop there and our church has family-camped there.  At 1/2 price, what a bargain!  They charged $36/night last time I was there, with hookups.

I have been on two free camping trips that came with my PU purchase.  They were both accompanied by a 45-90 minute sales presentation and campsite tour.

If your'e familiar with membership campsites like NACO Thousand Trails or Colorado River Adventures, and many others, they first sell you a home base membership for $5,000 to $10,000, (on Ebay for $1000 to $4000).  Unlike a timeshare where you legally own a deeded property, you end up not owning anything other than a membership that you can only transfer three times.

With Choice their selling point is NOT to sell.  They "give" you a home base membership at an RV Park in AZ which you will probably never visit.  However, that allows you to join all of the other RPI/Leisure Time - NACO and RV Adventures organizations with access to hundreds of of RV parks at $8.00, $10.00, or 1/2 price per night.  You still must pay for the yearly maintenance fees to your home base, and the yearly memberships to RPI and/or RV Adventures.

For now, I'm still introducing my family to camping and the National and State Parks offer much more in the way of campsite size and location beauty than virtually any RVPark.  If I was a fulltimer or simply wanted rent-a-cop security, and didn't mind parking my RV three feet from my neighbor, then that would be the way to go.
