I was wondering if anyone ever tried to connect a Coleman HWOD into their PUP's water system?  I am not talking about a permenant installation, but rather something that would be connected/disconnected at each campsite (like you do the regular water).  Our PUP has hot/cold mixer faucets, but need a source for hot water.

Any thoughts?

I have used the unit inside the camper, with very good ventilation.  To use this unit, you have to turn a knob to start the water flow and to get the water the temp that you want.  I don't see how you could hook it up to your camper through your water system, as everytime you turn is on you need to turn it on with the knob .  Coleman use to have a short video on using this thing on their website.  You might want to take a look at it to fully understand it's operation.  Good Luck.

I have to agree with HersheyGirl.  The unit doesn't have a tank like a water heater.  When you need hot water you turn the knob to the temperature you want and you get cold, warm or hot water.  You can hear the unit ignite when you turn it on.  If I didn't have hot water I would get one.  The nice thing is you can move it around to different locations.:)

OK, how about this...

Take the output hose of the Coleman Hot Water on demand and put a male garden hose adaptor on it.  Screw this into the city water input of the pop up.  Then when you want hot/warm water "turn the knob and let her rip.  The water insid eht epop up will then be hot/warm.

OK, I admit I have never used on, or even seen one so i don't know if this would work.  Just sounded good.

That would work as long as you kept the faucet in the PU open, so the water could run.  The pump in the HWOD comes on when you turn the knob for the water temperature.  I don't know what would happen if the HWOD was running/pumping/heating water and the water was not moving out of the unit.  I am guessing it wouldn't be good.:yikes:  You could just run a hose from the HWOD to the sink in the PU to do the same thing and bypass the water lines in the PU.
