We booked our 1st trip

We booked our first trip of the season at Lakewood Family campground in Mrytle beach. My Truck will pull camper but unfortunately my wife will have to drive separately which means we will have to stop 3/4 of the way for her to not kill me. We are having a real hard time finding a campground in Mt. airy  statesville area. Any ideas?

For a quickie, alot of folks stop in an inexpensive motel.  :p  This way, you can leave the TV hooked up, take a hot shower, get a bite to eat and get back on the road early in the morning. It might make more sense and keep DW happy.

Where are you coming from? If you are coming along 81/77 there is Claytor Lake State Park in Virginia. There's also RJ Ranch RV Resort in Hillsville, VA. In North Carolina there is Lake Norman State Park south of Statesville in Troutman, but no hookups here.

Or you could just find a nice truck stop and stay overnight in your new camper.
