Cost Co tires, Good? Bad?

Our 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee needs new tires and we got an estimate from Cost Co along with our local tire place.  Cost Co was much cheaper on the exact same tires.  Has anyone gotten tires there?  Was it a good experience?  It almost seems too good to be true, free lifetime balancing etc.

Thanks in advance for any info!

We have bought tires a few times from Costco and they were good.

Costco is too far away from me to get my tires there, but we do get replacement tries at Sam's Club or at www.tirerack.com .  We haven't had a problem with either place.  :)

Hey all!

The way we buy/sell vehicles we are always buying tires.  We go straight to www.tirerack.com just like tlhdoc said.  I have never had a problem in over 10 years and my biggest order from them ever (at one time) was sixteen tires and eight rims.  Great company.

We have purchased tires for my car at Costco and were pleased.  Just remember to figure in the cost of installation that Costco charges.  It is usually included when you purchase tires some where else.

The only time Costco has charged extra for installation was on carry in tires. I was buying all of my vehicle tires there. They do not carry trailer tires. Now Discount tire is beating their price on Michelin LTX's by $20 per tire, and Costco told me to go to Discount.
