If you have a military parking sticker and ID, Plan to stop at San Onofre-Marine Corps Base at Camp Pendleton!! It is the cleanest and nicest place we have stayed! Lot of spaces, nice people, Right on the beach, shade available on some. Full / partial.  Very nice.. $22 /night SWE   HUGE bathhouses that are immaculate!!   Bob & Patti Gallagher -San Diego, CA

You must have both??  DH has the ID, but there's no parking sticker on our tow vehicle.  Is there a way to contact them?

We camp there frequently w/o a sticker.  (My husband is retired from the Navy and has aversion to military stickers!)  Our non-military family members often join us with their own vehicles.  All they need is a driver's license, proof of insurance and current registration.  During the week, this is a very quiet, nice campground....except for occasional maneuvers that send tanks and other military vehicles to "invade" the beach...the kids love it.  On summer weekends, it can be somewhat noisy...lots of young military guys and gals with their unbelieveably loud music...and don't forget that the trains always go noisily by in the middle of the night just across the fence from some of the campsites.  There are a commissary, exchange, gas station, video rental, library, etc., etc. nearby.  Our grandkids think the summer is not complete without a week or two at San Onofre.
