I am new to pop up camping.  I bought a 1996 Rockwood 1640 about a month ago and intend on using it extensively this spring and summer attending mtn. bike races.  The PU has 12" tires that have about 200 miles on them.  The tread is in good condition and my question is should I replace them since they are 9 years old or should I use them as is and hope for the best?  The spare has a cover and is in pristine shape.  Thanks for your input

I would replace them.  After that many years it would be cheap insurance to do so.

I second that recommendation. Even though the tires only have 200 miles on them, after 9 years there should  be some evidence of wall cracking and dry rot. It sounds like your travels will include some high mileage trips, that will heat up those 12" tires. New tires would be cheap insurance to avoid any potential problems.

Welcome to PUT!

I vote with the others.  To be safe I would get new tires.
