Hey all!

Well, we sold the Carmel today rather than trade it in on the new HYBRID.  The happy new owners will pick it up Monday!  We ordered a 2005 Forest River Salem 19EX LE last month and it should arrive at the dealer sometime next week.  The only thing is that the dealer is in Indiana.  Seems like we buy a lot of our vehicles in Indiana.  :screwy:  Anyway, no dealer around here could even touch the price we got so it is worth it to drive 700 miles to save so much.  When you buy a new camper the dealer has a campground and gives you 2 free nights.  We are going to stay at least one to make sure everything is working 100%.  I guess it's "grand opening" COTOC trip will be at North-South Lake when we go in May.  There, now the big secret is out!  :eyecrazy:

Hey Rick,

Congratulations!!!  I hope the new owners are happy with your old PU.  I can't wait to see it at NL.  So will Beckie be happy?  I am happy that you were able to see the PU privately.:)

HersheyGirl

Beckie is VERY happy to Finally know what Rick and Stephnie are getting!!!  That is just so very cool!  I will need to go to the website and check this baby out.  I also hope you will have better luck with this one than you did on the last two.  Oh, this is so exciting.....I can't wait to see it. Congrats on the new camper!

Hey guys...  thanks for the congrats.  When it finally arrives, I will be even more excited.  I was going to wait and just show up at North Lake with it, but since we sold the Carmel, I figured it was kind of a done deal.  Here is the floorplan:

Wow Rick, how cool is that! Can't wait to see it. But wait, I see it has a bathroom. Stephie won't have a chance to get into it with the other "ladies." What will I do for laughs? You guys keep trading up and you won't have anything to complain about  :p  Can't wait to see you all.

So Rick you are not excited are you?:eyecrazy:

At this point, I am actually a little sad...  Stephie came over last night when I was at work, popped up, and "moved out" of the Carmel.  All the stuff is in the van now, and ready to go into the new camper.  It is amazing the amount of stuff that you can fit inside a PU.  When it's all spread out it looks like there is NO WAY all that stuff can fit inside that little camper box and get all folded together and packed away.  I hope we have enough storage in the new camper!!

DiW

I'm sure you'll fit it all in, but if not, you'll just have to trade up again  :D . Hope you take pictures of all these campers and make a nice little album.

Hope there are no little issues with this one. You haven't had the best of luck. It's time you had a 'no hassle' camper.

Di (looking forward to North-South Lake trip)

Hey all!

The new camper arrived at the dealer from the factory today!!  :eyecrazy: YAY! :eyecrazy:  We are going to leave for Indiana around midnight after I get home from work on Friday the 15th.  That will put me at the dealer roughly lunchtime on Saturday.  (We both got Saturday off)  I am having the dealer set up the WDH and then we have reservations at their CG for one night.  I am going to use each and every thing in the camper to make 1000000% sure that all is well and working.  We'll head home whatever time Sunday, and get home whatever time Monday.  I am praying that we don't find any glitches because the dealer is closed on Sundays and we would have to wait around till Monday which would mean that Stephie and I would both have to be "sick" on Tuesday...  did that make sense??  :screwy:

TheViking

Congrats on the new Hybrid !!  I hope I'm next

DiW

Rick,
Wow that was fast. Good news - you'll have it in time for camping with me  :D  so you can show it off.
Di

Actually Di it wasn't fast... We ordered it back in Feb around Valentines Day, it was built sometime in March, and arrived a few days ago. It might just seem fast because I didn't say a word until last week. lol I didn't want to jinx myself. :) My original plan was to just show up with it at North Lake, but I was having a hard enough time keeping my mouth shut for this long.

PS - I thought it was a 2005, but the bill of sale says 2006 on it.  So I am not sure what year it is...  We only have one piece of paper with the vin and year, etc. and it is handwritten in.  When I get the title or some other "official" paperwork with the year on it I'll know for sure.  Would they make a 2006 camper in March 2005??

I added some pics of the Salem on my webshots page.  I had the dealer take pics of the camper and email them to me.  Click here to check it out:
