Hello,
I'm new to the forum but not PUT. My search is for some curtains. I saw the other post on curtains in NJ, I'm going to follow up on that. I upgraded to a 91 Stacraft Starmaster with a 12' box. But I'm missing a couple of curtain panels. I'd like to dress up my pop up with some new curtains. Has anyone ever seen that type of material available with some sort of backing on it? I think if I used any other kind of material the curtains might look like a mess when I opened the roof. I spoke with some very nice people at Canvas Replacements in Wisconsin where I am getting a new end. I can purchase from them for $85.00 a pair. But they wouldn't match what we have and I think it can be cheaper if I can just get my hands on some of that sort of material my wife could take it from there.

Thanks

Do you have a Joann Fabric in Boston?  I was at our local store yesterday and looked around.  They had a lot of outdoor looking fabrics that would look great in my PU.  I'm thinking of a change also and will probably go there.  The ladies there will be very helpful with whatever you would like.  You could ask them about a low wrinkle type of fabric.

My Wife made new curtains for our 01 Niagara. She found the heavier dark green material she wanted at Wal-Mart. It was on sale for a dollar a yard, so she bought the whole bolt. The curtains really look sharp with their new bright flowery valances and really dress up the interior of the camper. She also put a sun blocker on the back sides of them.......

What did she use for the backing?:)

tlhdoc, The name of that sun block material is Roclon.. Wife got it at Hancock Fabrics.. Any fabric store that handles drapery materials  will probably have it....

I was going to say, just ask any knowledgable person at most any fabric store for the materials for drapes/curtains in a PU. Both my 1st DW and second were handy with a sewing machine and wiped them up for PU's. Took longer picking out the material than actually making the curtains.

The key was telling them what happens to the curtains when the trailer is folded up. They showed us what fabrics would and wouldn't wrinkle and which would tend to "unwrinkle" when you put the trailer back up.

I'd like to thank everyone for their input. I'm following up some leads, but still coming up empty getting materail with the sun blocker attached. If all else fails I'll just buy the sun blocker material and attach (sew) it to the curtain material. It's no big deal, I'm just surprised at how hard it is to find what I need. I've been working on some other mechanical things on my pop-up and the way things are going the curtains might be the last to be completed.
It's been a long winter here in the Northeast and I'm anxious to be ready to use my new (1991 Starcraft) pop-up as soon as the weather warms up a little more.
